As a Nashville wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing many beautiful love stories unfold, but TriciaClare and Clayton Williams’ wedding at Birchwood Venue in Springhill was truly something special. Their day was a perfect blend of personal touches, vibrant colors, and an undeniable sense of joy. From the moment I stepped into the bright chapel, surrounded by the warm glow of sunlight and the welcoming smiles of their loved ones, I knew I was about to capture the start of their lifelong commitment to each other.
When I first arrived, I was immediately struck by the stunning contrast between the bridesmaids’ dresses and the vibrant sunflower bouquets. TriciaClare chose a bright, light blue for her bridesmaids, which paired beautifully with the bright yellow of the sunflowers. The dresses were all flowey and fit each of her twelve bridesmaids perfectly. (Yes, I said 12–this wedding was a big ole party) The contrast was not only visually striking but also symbolic—blue, often representing trust and loyalty, and sunflowers, a symbol of adoration and happiness. Together, they mirrored the love and joy that surrounded the TriciaClare and Clayton.
Each bridesmaid made her own bouquet! They all gathered the night before the wedding to create their own floral bouquets, which was such a sweet memory to create together as friends. It was impossible not to smile every time I captured the vibrant colors dancing in the sunlight.
Birchwood Venue’s chapel, with its large windows and dark wood pews, created the perfect backdrop for TriciaClare and Clayton’s deeply personal ceremony. As sunlight poured through the windows, it illuminated the couple in the most beautiful, natural way. The light seemed to follow them as they stood together at the altar, ready to begin the next chapter of their love story.
They decided not to do a first look, so the grand entrance was even more emotional and special. TriciaClare’s entrance was breathtaking. Her gown, elegant and timeless, trailed softly behind her as she walked down the aisle. Clayton’s face lit up as soon as he saw her, and it was one of those moments that reminded me why I love being a Nashville wedding photographer. His reaction, filled with awe and emotion, was a testament to their love—raw, genuine, and deeply moving. His eyes (and maybe mine hehe) were filled with a few tears.
The ceremony was intimate, with personal vows that had everyone, myself included, wiping away a few tears. Clayton’s dad performed the ceremony and centered it all on their love for Jesus and their want to Him to shine through every moment of their day. TriciaClare and Clayton shared stories of how they met and how their love grew, making everyone in the room feel as though they were a part of their journey. It was clear that their relationship is built on a foundation of deep affection for Christ, love, and friendship—something that radiated throughout the entire day.
After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate! And sure did throw a FUNNN party. The reception was a lively, and the dance floor was packed from the moment the music started. They handed out heart shaped sun glassesOne of the things I loved most about TriciaClare and Clayton’s wedding was how their personalities shone through, not only in the details but also in the way their friends and family embraced the joy of the day.
The newlyweds opened the dance floor with a sweet, slow first dance, with a song written by the groom’s mom. The evening include a live band which shifted the atmosphere shifted to full-on fun. The bridal party led the charge, and soon enough, everyone—from grandparents to the littlest guests—was out on the dance floor, showing off their moves. The energy was contagious, and I found myself laughing along with everyone else as I snapped candid shots of guests dancing, laughing, and celebrating this incredible union.
A wedding day is about more than just the planned moments—it’s the spontaneous, unfiltered joy that makes the day unforgettable. Capturing the energy of the dance party, from group dances to those unscripted moments of guests breaking out their best moves, is what brings these memories to life for years to come. Reception photos are some of my very favorite!!!
One of the greatest honors of being a Nashville wedding photographer is getting to witness the very beginning of a couple’s forever. For TriciaClare and Clayton, this day was the culmination of their love story so far, but also the start of something even bigger. Their wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are as a couple—fun-loving, deeply connected, and surrounded by people who cherish them.
As I documented their day, from the quiet moments between them during the portrait session to the loud laughter on the dance floor, I felt like I was capturing not just a wedding, but a love that will grow and evolve through the years. They were surrounded by a close-knit community of friends and family, who were just as excited to celebrate their union as they were to witness it.
Looking back at the photos, I see a day filled with light and love. The way the sunflowers brightened the room, the deep blue dresses of the bridesmaids against the lush greenery outside, the smiles on TriciaClare and Clayton’s faces as they exchanged vows—all of these moments tell the story of a couple whose love will continue to blossom.
Every wedding I photograph is unique, but there were a few personal touches that really made TriciaClare and Clayton’s day stand out. One of the most memorable was their decision to write their own vows to read during the ceremony in the chapel. It was a beautiful way for their guests to hear what they were promising each other. These small, thoughtful gestures showed just how much TriciaClare and Clayton value their relationships and the role their loved ones play in their lives.
As I reflect on this beautiful day at Birchwood Venue, I am so grateful to have been a part of it. TriciaClare and Clayton, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding and document the beginning of your journey as husband and wife. Your love story is one for the ages, and I’m honored to have played a small part in preserving it.
